Getting In Shape Fast – Serious vs. Not Serious:
Wondering how long it is going to take to get in better shape is just wasting time. There is no definitive answer to that fitness question. Getting fit and healthy really comes down to just how much effort and consistency you are going to make. Everyone is different. Some people are serious and other people are looking for the easy way out, with little to no work and the least effort possible.
Assess Your Current Fitness & Health Levels for Your Body:
You also need to assess just how out of shape you are currently. How much do you weigh at this moment. How much body fat do you have to lose? How is your cardiovascular health?
The best thing to do is to keep a journal and date it for today:
- Then write down how much you weigh today.
- You can purchase body fat calipers and measure your body fat percentage (not necessary but helpful so you can see how many inches you lose).
- Take note and document your current clothing sizes-this way when you start losing inches you can see how many sizes you have lost
- Take pictures in your under wear or swim suit from the front and sides to show the changes you make as you progress
When trying to get in shape you have to realize that you did not become out of shape over night, so it will not change over night. However, if you make working out and fitness a regular routine every day and you are consistent every day it will change fast.
Consistency in working out and healthy eating
When we say consistency, we mean being dedicated every day to a healthy eating plan. A healthy eating plan consisting of good, lean proteins, healthy complex carbs, and healthy fats. We mean consistently drinking lots of water daily and avoiding sugary drinks and alcohol while trying to get in shape.
We also mean being consistent with a workout consisting of weight and/or resistance training and cardio daily. You can even change up your workouts and do cardio 3 or 4 days a week and do weight training the other days, while giving yourself a couple of days off in between to recover and allow your body to repair itself and get you in better shape.
You can start a simple weight training routine to help tighten, tone and build muscle. This is important and will not make you bulky ladies! These types of exercise shape your body by toning, building and shaping muscle.
For example, if you want to discover how to lose back fat then start building muscle in and strengthening your back with various resistance and weight training exercises. When you build muscle through weight training or resistance training, you will burn more calories naturally, each and every day. Muscle burns fat, however, keep in mind that you cannot spot reduce fat. Fat has to be removed from your entire body through healthy eating and cardio, muscle training etc.
You also need to understand that you can’t lose fat in one area only, but that when losing fat it comes off your entire body.
Even starting out slowly by being more active everyday will make a big difference when combined with eating healthy every day and eliminating sugars, sodium and processed foods. Just keep in mind though, when you begin working out, you will build muscle and muscle is denser than fat, so you may not see much change on the scale, but you should see it in your clothes and how they fit as you lose inches.
These are the things that WILL determine how long it will take you to get in shape. Everyone is different, but as long as you stay with it and work hard and stay regular you will get in shape fast.
Never give up and really make fitness, working out and healthy eating a regular part of your life and you will get in shape sooner than you think.
